After performing over 1500 bunion surgeries to date, Dr. Amiot found that many patients experience unnecessary, prolonged pain and stiffness following surgery. Antiquated procedures still in use today have led to a stigma regarding traditional bunion surgery – that it is painful and the recovery time is extensive.

Dr Amiot felt that it was time to do better – to improve the procedures and outcomes for patients and surgeons alike. He conceived of RELJA Innovations to design superior, less invasive bunion surgery products.
